About us
Home & Gardens opened for business in the early 1970's and immediately became popular with local residents and trades people for the friendly service and range of stock provided. From humble beginnings, the shop expanded and developed within the initial premises at 84 George Street until the early 2000's when adjacent premises were purchased to expand the available floor space.
During the 2000's, the business continued to develop and expand and joined the Home Hardware group in 2008 widening further the range of products on offer to customers. Today the business offers a total of 10,000sq ft of sales space and employs 16 staff.
Home & Gardens remains an independent retailer and continues to offer the same friendly, helpful service as the original shop. It enjoys the same loyal support from a wide range of customers and remains a cornerstone of the local economy.
