Our friendly staff are always ready to give you a warm welcome and assist with all you purchases. We have all you need for your home, garden, and DIY projects. We also have a gift shop and furniture section. We are dog friendly and may even have a treat under the counter for your doggie.
We are firm supporters of the Shop Local campaign, keeping business on the High Street.
We support local charities: Some who have benefited recently are: Highland Hospice; Community Care Circle and Forres in Bloom. We donated the money from our plastic carrier bag sales to 1st Forres Scouts and we also host their Christmas Post Box. We also donate to the Forres Girls Football Club Christmas raffle and Usborne Books to promote Forres Loves Local.

We have all you need for your home, garden, and DIY projects. We also have a gift shop and furniture section. The building dates from 1820 and is a fabulous warren where lots of discoveries can be made with a long browse!
We are dog friendly and may even have a treat under the counter for your doggie. The team also excel at doing the windows and you'll often find cheeky pranks hidden in the windows displays!
The History of Wrights:
100% home grown in Scotland
Our 1st shop, in Prestwick, was purchased by William Wright, a retired Marine Engineer and native of Glasgow, in 1947. The same year, down at the seafront in Prestwick, Jim Ferguson was born and 15 years later he found himself working for Mr Wright after school. Jim fell in love with the trade and jumped at the chance to buy the business in 1969, aged just 22. He respected what Mr Wright had taught him so much that he kept his mentor’s business name. From that point on Jim worked tirelessly to help independent hardware shops survive and thrive, building up a network of 10 local stores. He was one of the founding members of Home Hardware (Scotland) Ltd in 1983, a buying group that has gone on to become a thriving Ardrossan-based distribution hub, to over 40 family run businesses throughout Scotland and the north of England. Since Jim’s untimely death in 2018, the Ferguson family continue to run the business blending traditional High St values with modern approaches. We strive to support local communities and High Streets from Forres in the north to Hawick in the South. Love Local Today and help your community to thrive!
